This happened a while ago, but I was reminded of it and wanted to write type it down…

I was driving along one afternoon with three kids sittin in the back jabbering away. I usually tune out most of what goes on behind me, but when I heard the word “girlfriend”, my ears perked right up. Trent was telling Brice that he had a girlfriend. Brice was not impressed, but Trent insisted that he did have a girlfriend. I really don’t think he knows what a girlfriend is, but he must a heard the word somewhere. Figuring he wouldn’t have an answer (because I seriously didn’t think he had a girlfriend) I asked Trent to tell me what her name was.
“Mary” he answered in an “I told you so” type of tone.
I was shocked, and impressed, and worried all at once.
“Where do you know Mary from Trent?” I asked.
“Church.” He replied, in the same tone and with an innocently serious little face.
Well I’ll be!

Must a been a short fling, cause I haven’t heard about Mary since.
