If you know the title reference… I want you to know that I think you are cool (as if that mattered). Anyway, it’s summertime. Although we pulled our kidos out a few weeks ago… today was the last day of school and marks the official beginning of a few of my favorite things… I LOVE warm weather, pool parties, refreshing drinks (the “we made it to the evening and mommy’s going to relax now” kind), vacations and traveling, being barefoot (all the time), the lake, my sundresses (of course), BBQ, my teacher friends who I get to hang out with a whole lot more (I’m talking about you Emily), watermelon, ice cream (just pretend I really don’t eat it all the time and all year long… there’s something even more wonderful about ice cream when it’s soft and melting on a hot summers day), and the joyful clatter of children enjoying the carefree afternoons… Which at our little homestead looks like sunscreen and goggles (though we are consistently one pair too short), a bazillion wet towels and kidos who are too tuckered to protest against bedtime.
