It all began with the gifts, two of them in particular. For my dear hubby, I wanted to get a 42″ flat screen… a major upgrade from our 26″ old tube TV that wasn’t even going to work after the digital switch over. Anyhow, in order to get the 42″, 1080 pixel LCD that I wanted (thanks dad for the tips cause I really had no idea what I was looking for), I had to work extra. A lot of extra. The second gift that contributed to the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle was for my mom. My siblings and I (with some help from my dad) brought my sister up from Texas as a surprise to my mom. My sister is mentally disabled and lives in a group home in San Antonio. My mom was really happy to see her when we all showed up at her house (all four of us). …About as happy as Stephen was to come home from running an errand on Christmas Eve and find his new TV in the family room. 🙂
We had family over on Christmas Eve, and I sang at church earlier that evening. I prepared an easy meal and we spend a majority of the evening playing on the boys new Wii, which Stephen and I are finding we too enjoy very much. (Did ya know you can seriously get in shape with that thing. We have Outdoor Challenge and there’s a whole weight loss/get fit program with it, but seriously… I broke a sweat the other day playing a few games of tennis with hubby.)
On Christmas morning we celebrated Jesus with our kids and then later that afternoon we went over to my parent’s where the rest of the fam met us and we had one of the best Christmas’s in a long time. It was so nice to have all of my siblings together, and all the grandkids had a fun time too. The next day we left for Texas and drove straight through… I’m sure you can just imagine our 18 hour trip. 🙂 The days following our return were busy with both cleaning (a LOT of cleaning) and the excitement of new things.
So there ya have it… I think I’m all recuperated and can resume normal life (be seein ya around the blogesphere soon!).
I hope your holidays were blessed.
Happy New Year!
