Summer Swimmin

“Go swimming today mom?” Is what I hear from Nevan just about every morning! He was so excited about the water he ran and jumped into the pool, fully clothed, shoes and all, the first day of Brice and Trent’s swim lessons. I about had a heart attack! Running after him, I wasn’t sure what I’d do when I got there. Am I gonna have to jump in? Luckily, Trent’s swim instructor was right next to Nevan and picked him up for me. He wasn’t at all scared, if anything he was afraid that he was in trouble. I was completely embarrassed! The first day of swim lessons, and all the other moms are just staring at us. It’s made for a good laugh I suppose.

Now I keep him occupied with snacks. Other than that incident, swim lessons have been going really well. Brice is swimming in open water, doing flips and swimming beneath the surface. And Trent, he will be the first to proudly proclaim that he can put his face under water, and that he can float! They all really enjoy swimming.

We had a fun day out at Grandma and Grandpa’s pool last week with their cousin Ethan. We were out there for a good three or four hours and while I caked the boys in sunscreen, I forgot to put it on myself until about half way through the afternoon. I was in bed pretty early that night, tired and sunburned. Oops.
